Aunque todavía no emite la sentencia, el Primer Tribunal Colegiado del Distrito Nacional determinó que Ángel Rondón “ha comprometido su responsabilidad como autor del crimen” de sobornos a funcionarios públicos e “incurrió en acciones típicas de lavado con la intención de ocultar el origen ilícito de recursos”.
Las juezas Giselle Méndez, Tania Yunes y Jissel Naranjo continúan dando lectura a su dictamen que todavía no ha sido emitido.
La Procuraduría Especializada de Persecución de la Corrupción Administrativa (Pepca) ha solicitado diez años de condena para el empresario Rondón y también para el exministro de Obras Públicas Víctor Díaz Rúa, los principales implicados en los sobornos por más de 92 millones de dólares de la empresa Odebrecht a funcionarios y legisladores dominicanos.
En tanto que solicitó siete años para Conrado Pittaluga, abogado de Víctor Díaz Rúa; para Tommy Galán, exsenador de la República Dominicana por la provincia San Cristóbal (PLD); Andrés Bautista, expresidente del Senado y senador por la provincia Espaillat en el gobierno del PRD, y para Roberto Rodríguez, exdirector del Instituto Nacional de Aguas Potables y Alcantarillados (Inapa)
