El Primer Tribunal Colegiado del Distrito Nacional absolvió al exsenador Porfirio Andrés Bautista de la imputación por delitos de soborno, prevaricación, falsedad, enriquecimiento ilícito y lavado de activos.
Las juezas que integran el Tribunal llegaron a la conclusión de que los hechos por los que el Ministerio Público lo imputó no existieron.
El Ministerio Público dijo que Bautista facilitó la aprobación de contratos de obras adjudicadas a Odebrecht valiéndose de su cargo de presidente del Senado. El Tribunal afirmó que pudo constatar que el exlegislador no estuvo presente en las sesiones donde fueron aprobados dichos contratos.
