El alcalde Rafael Barón Duluc (Cholitin), recibió parte de la comisión organizadora del Desfile y Festival Dominicano del Estado de New Jersey encabezada por Elsa Mantilla, vice alcaldesa de la ciudad de Paterson y presidente fundadora del Desfile y Festival Estatal de New Jersey, el motivo de esta visita fue para hacerle la invitación formal al municipio Higüey para participar en esta importante actividad la cual, en esta ocasión será dedicada a la provincia La Altagracia.
El alcalde recibió con entusiasmo esta noticia y de inmediato dispuso de sus buenos oficios para formar parte de esta actividad y llevar el orgullo Higüeyano a la ciudad de Paterson New Jersey, a su vez auguró que por ser esta una de las actividades más importante para los Dominicanos en los Estados Unidos, la alcaldía de este municipio estará presente y abre la invitación para que la población y empresarios nos acompañen a representar nuestro municipio este magno evento.
