El general se desempeñaba como director de la Digesset
Eduardo Alberto Then fue puesto en retiro en el decreto 557-23.
El presidente de la República, Luis Abinader, emitió un decreto en el que asciende a general y designa a Ramón Antonio Guzmán Peralta como nuevo director de la Policía Nacional, en sustitución de mayor general Eduardo Alberto Then, quien fue puesto en retiro.
El orden está contenida en el decreto 557-23, emitido la tarde de este miércoles por el jefe de Estado.
Guzmán Peralta era el titular de la Dirección General de Seguridad de Tránsito y Transporte Terrestre (Digesset).
El decreto también dispone que Eduardo Alberto Then queda colocado en honrosa situación de retiro, por el cese de sus funciones como director general de la Policía Nacional y es designado como asesor del presidente de la República.

Asimismo, el general de la Policía, Francisco Osoria de la Cruz fue nombrado director general de Digesett y se deroga el artículo 7 del decreto 490-20, del 21 de septiembre de 2020.
