El vocero y director de Estrategia y Comunicación de la Presidencia, Homero Figueroa, confirmó, que por instrucciones del presidente Luis Abinader, se ha procedido a la evacuación inmediata de todo el personal civil en servicio en la Embajada y distintos consulados dominicanos en Haití.
Esta medida, fue ejecutada tras el cierre de las instalaciones diplomáticas y consulares en el país vecino y busca proteger la integridad física del personal dominicano ante los riesgos que supone la violencia producto de la crisis política, económica y social.
El personal evacuado se encuentra sano y salvo en territorio dominicano.
Estas declaraciones fueron ofrecidas a través de un comunicado de prensa.
La embajada y los consulados volverán a operar cuando cese la violencia en Haití y esté garantizada la seguridad de nuestro personal diplomático.
El Gobierno dominicano garantiza a la población dominicana que la frontera está asegurada.
