Los abogados del joven estadounidense JoshuaRiibe han interpuesto un hábeas corpus preventivo para impedir que sea detenido en el marco de la investigación sobre la búsqueda de la estudiante Sudiksha Konanki.
La acciónlegal fue presentada en la provincia La Altagracia con el argumento de que su cliente ha colaborado con las autoridades y que no existen motivos suficientes para ordenar su arresto.
Riibe, quien fue la última persona en ver a Konanki en la playa del hotel RIU República, ha sido interrogado por las autoridades dominicanas en varias ocasiones.
Según su testimonio, ambos entraron al mar durante la madrugada y una corriente pudo haber arrastrado a la joven. Sin embargo, su relato ha variado en ciertos detalles, lo que ha generado dudas entre los investigadores.
